Bio on Coach David Padilla

Coach David Padilla started volunteering with FCA in 2007 and has also been a huddle coach at Camarillo High School since the 2004/2005 school year.  He came on staff with FCA in January of 2008 to serve God’s ministry in Ventura County.
For over 15 years, Coach Padilla coached football at the high school level at both Camarillo and Thousand Oaks.   It was during his time at Camarillo that he met a young man named Keith who would help to change his life forever.  It was this freshman football player that would help to lead his coach to accepting Jesus Christ as his savior.  Soon after, he started serving in youth ministry at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and later became a youth pastor at Northbound Community Church in Thousand Oaks.  During the 2007 football season, coached joined the Ventura College Football staff where he currently serves as the character development coach and the NCAA/NAIA recruitment coordinator.

Recently, coach left his job with the Oxnard Union High School District after 13 years to become a full time student and finish earning his bachelor’s degree.  He is also the president and founder of the I.S.I. Leadership Academy which is a program that prepares young men and women for entrance into one of our nation’s service academies.

In January 2008, he came on staff to serve Ventura County with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Coach is very excited about being able to serve God and help the ministry of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes grow in Ventura County.
